Back to School: Transform it Today! (Part 2)

Today’s transformation tugged at my heart strings a bit. After sorting through baby clothes a few months ago, my sister and I pulled out any of the clothes that were stained and put them in the get rid of box. We figured with all the girl clothes we had, there wasn’t a lot of benefit to keeping the stained ones.

There were a couple outfits that I couldn’t part with though even if they were stained. This particular one has been worn by both My Princess and Miss Tickles around nine months old. It was one of my favorites.

Original Shirt

Got a little emotional looking through old pictures to find that one. They grow up so fast!

Since I didn’t want to get rid of that shirt, I decided to use the cute hearts on a new shirt (well new to us plain thrift store shirt).

Plain Brown Shirt

I cut out the cute hearts.

Applique

Using fusible webbing, I attached the hearts on to the shirt and did a small zig zag stitch around them.

Transformed Shirt

My Princess saw it for the first time and said, “that’s so pretty!”

My Princess Transformed Shirt

I am happy that she can wear it once again.

Give new life to nostalgic clothing for your kids. See another transformation of a stained shirt tomorrow.
